SaaS development from idea to subscription revenue.

Building a SaaS product is a series of traps disguised as decisions. Over-building the MVP. Under-building security. Choosing an architecture that cannot scale. Launching with no plan for finding customers. Sixteen years of shipping have taught us where every trap is.

What is SaaS development?

SaaS development is the design, building and running of software that customers use through a browser or app and pay for by subscription. It covers the product itself, plus sign-in, billing, a multi-customer architecture, security, hosting and the analytics needed to grow it.

Money is flowing again, with UK venture investment up 35 per cent in 2025 (HSBC Innovation Banking and Dealroom), but buyers are pickier. Before they sign, they ask about security, where their data lives and how easy it is to cancel. We build those answers in from the first commit.

Deliverables

Everything a SaaS product needs, under one roof.

01 Validate Before any code, we test the idea properly. Who pays, what for, why you, why now. A week of honesty here saves months of building the wrong thing.
02 Design Product design that makes the core value obvious in the first session. People who try it should understand it without a tour.
03 Build the MVP in about 90 days A working slice of real value: sign-in, the core workflow, Stripe billing with UK VAT handled properly, an admin area and analytics, on a modern stack built for many customers from the first commit.
04 AI built in Buyers now expect intelligence inside the product: assistants, smart defaults, automation. We design the AI features alongside the product, rather than bolting them on later.
05 Harden and scale Security review, monitoring, backups, single sign-on, audit logs and UK or EU hosting. When a larger UK customer sends a security questionnaire, you will have the answers, and a head start on Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001.
06 Subscription rules, ready New UK rules for consumer subscriptions under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 are expected in 2027, covering reminders before trials end and before renewals, cooling-off periods and online cancellation as easy as signing up. If you sell to consumers, we build those flows in now rather than retrofit them.
07 Grow The team that built your product can run its SEO, AI visibility and marketing, so you launch with a plan for finding customers.

Thirty minutes with a senior engineer, free and with no obligation. Bring the problem, not a brief.

Prefer a partner with a stake in the outcome?

If your product qualifies, our Co-Founder Programme goes further. Three times a year we co-found a product with a UK founder, contribute the senior engineering team, carry part of the build cost and hold 10 to 15 per cent equity alongside you.

Pricing and questions

Frequently asked questions.

How is SaaS development priced?

With a fixed, itemised quote in pounds after discovery, paid in milestones as working software is delivered. The price is known before work starts, and any change of scope is costed in writing before we build it. The Co-Founder Programme is an equity-based alternative for UK founders who qualify.

How long does it take to build a SaaS MVP?

About 90 days from kick-off to a launchable MVP for a well-scoped product, with a working demo every week along the way. Larger or more regulated products take longer, and the fixed quote sets out the exact timeline before you commit.

Do you build AI features into SaaS products?

Yes, as standard. Grounded assistants, automation and intelligent workflows are designed alongside the core product rather than added afterwards, using the AI model best suited to each feature and to where your customers' data may be processed.

Who owns the code?

You do, in full, once the project is paid for. Source code, designs, cloud accounts and every admin login are in your name and handed over with documentation. In Co-Founder Programme builds, the company we both hold shares in owns the product, as the term sheet sets out.

Can you take over an existing SaaS codebase?

Yes. We review the code first and give you an honest written report, then stabilise, document and extend it. If the previous team's work is sound, we say so and build on it rather than starting again.
