AI readiness and strategy for results, not experiments.

Most UK businesses know they should be doing something with AI, and most are not sure what. An AI readiness assessment answers that in plain English: which of your tasks AI can do well, which tools to buy, what is worth building, what it would cost to run and what has to be in place first.

In short

What is an AI readiness assessment?

An AI readiness assessment is a short review of a business that finds where artificial intelligence can save time or money, checks whether the data and systems are ready for it, identifies the risks to manage and recommends which tools to buy or build first. It ends with a written, prioritised plan.

You are not behind. Fewer than a third of UK businesses use any AI at all (ONS, October 2026), and the barriers firms report most often (DSIT, January 2026) are not yet having found a use for it (71 per cent) and limited AI skills (60 per cent). A short, honest assessment deals with both.

Deliverables

What the assessment covers.

01 Use-case map We talk to the people doing the work, list the tasks AI could take on and rank each one by hours saved, risk and how quickly it would pay back.
02 Buy, build or wait For each task, a clear recommendation: use a tool you already pay for, build something bespoke or leave it for now. Most businesses start with tools they already have.
03 Data and systems check Whether your data is clean, connected and allowed to be used for each job, and what needs fixing first. AI is only as good as the data it can reach.
04 An AI policy A short, practical policy: which tools staff may use, what must never be pasted into them, who checks AI output and how it all fits UK GDPR.
05 Safe roll-out of ChatGPT, Copilot or Claude Business accounts set up properly, data settings checked, access controlled and use measured, so the tools your team already likes are used safely.
06 Training for your team Hands-on sessions built around your own tasks, not generic demos, so staff know what to use AI for and when not to trust it.
07 A 90-day plan The first pilot, who owns it, how success is measured and a fixed quote for anything we would build, in writing and yours to keep.

Process

How the assessment runs.

01
Week 1
Listen and map.
Conversations with the people who run the work, a look at your tools and data, and the questions that worry you most.
02
Week 2
Assess and rank.
Each task scored on value, risk and readiness, with the data and security checks behind each score.
03
Week 3
Plan and decide.
The written findings, the policy and the 90-day plan, walked through with your leadership team.

Honest about the risks.

AI makes mistakes, and it makes them confidently. The assessment says plainly where AI should not be trusted with a decision, where a person must check its work and where the risk outweighs the saving. Where UK GDPR rules on automated decisions apply, we flag them. We would rather tell you not to automate something than build you a liability.

Pricing and questions

Frequently asked questions.

Do we need AI at all?

Perhaps not yet, and the assessment will say so. Some businesses get most of the benefit from tools they already pay for, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot or a ChatGPT business account, used well. Others have one process where a bespoke build pays back quickly. The point is to find out before you spend.

Is it safe to let staff use ChatGPT?

It can be, with the right set-up. The main providers' business plans keep your data out of model training by default, but free personal accounts can work differently. The policy we write sets out which tools and settings are allowed, and what information must never be pasted in.

Can you train our staff to use AI?

Yes. Training is built around your own tasks and tools, in short practical sessions, and covers what AI is good at, where it goes wrong and how to check its work. It is part of the assessment or can be booked on its own.

What happens after the assessment?

You keep the findings, the policy and the plan, and you can act on them with us, with another supplier or on your own. If the first pilot is something we build, you get a fixed quote in writing before any work starts.

How is an AI readiness assessment priced?

With a fixed fee in pounds, agreed in writing before it starts and based on the size of the business and how many teams we speak to. Anything we recommend building is quoted separately, so there are no surprises.
