AI agents that do the work, and know when to ask.
An automation follows the steps you give it. An AI agent works out the steps itself: it reads the situation, decides what to do next, uses your tools to do it and checks the result. That makes agents useful for messy, multi-step work that a fixed workflow cannot handle, such as chasing an overdue account, preparing a quote from an email or sorting a support queue.

What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is software built on a large language model that works towards a goal on its own: it plans the steps, uses tools such as your CRM, inbox or accounting system to carry them out, checks the results and asks a person when it is unsure or when a decision needs approval.
Agents are also easy to get wrong. Gartner expects more than 40 per cent of agentic AI projects to be cancelled by the end of 2027 because of rising costs, unclear value or weak risk controls (Gartner, June 2025). So we build agents the careful way: one clear job, limited permissions, every action logged and a person signing off anything that matters.

How we build an agent.
Controls as standard.
Every agent we ship has limits on what it can read and change, a full log of what it did and why, spending limits, a fallback for when it is unsure and an off switch your team controls. Where an action significantly affects someone, such as refusing a refund or a credit application, a person makes the final call, in line with the UK GDPR safeguards on automated decisions.
Often built alongside it.
Frequently asked questions.
What is the difference between an AI agent and automation?
Automation follows fixed steps you design, which makes it predictable and cheap to run. An agent decides its own steps, which handles messier work but needs more controls. Many good systems mix the two. Our AI Automation service covers the fixed-step workflows.
Can an AI agent make mistakes?
Yes, which is why ours work within limits. They can only use the tools and data you allow, every action is logged, and anything that matters waits for a person to approve it. We measure accuracy on past cases before launch and keep measuring afterwards.
Which systems can an agent work with?
Most business software with an API, including CRMs, help desks, email, calendars, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and accounting packages such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks. Where a system offers an MCP connection, we can use that too.
Is our data safe with an AI agent?
We use AI providers whose business terms rule out training on your data, give each agent the minimum access it needs and keep personal data out of prompts wherever we can. The data flows are written into your Data Processing Addendum before work starts.
How is an AI agent project priced?
With a fixed, itemised quote in pounds after a short discovery, covering the build and the supervised pilot. Running costs, mainly AI model usage and hosting, are estimated up front and shown separately, and spending limits keep them under control.
